Titran

Previously, the island was one of the most important in Mid-Norway with a great and good harbor which at times could accommodate many boats and hundreds of fishermen. The island is in the far west of Frøya. By Titran chapel you fill find a monument commemorating the Titran accident in 1899. 140 fishermen were killed in the course of one night during a blizzard hurricane. On Titran you will also find “Stabben Fort”, which are remnants of the German occupation and the German Atlantic Wall. West of the island you will find Sletringen Lighthouse. Kjersti at "Gaustadbrygga Café" serves you coffee, pastries, bagels, ice cream and drinks.
